75 years since the first World Championship Grand Prix, we were ready for a weekend of looking hella stylish (thanks to our SLAWN collab) and driving hella fast (thanks to Liam and Isack being those guys). But in typical British Grand Prix style, the rain reared its head and threw a spanner in the works.
Still, there’s plenty to get through in what was a jam-packed weekend of racing. Let’s break it down in VCARB’s Silverstone Race Review.
First of all, can we take a moment for our incredible British Grand Prix poster, courtesy of @ceeillustrate?!

And how about that garage take over? SLAWN pulling out all the stops to make sure he left his mark in the pitlane at Silverstone this weekend, with a full takeover of all the VCARB garage elements. From the pitstop gantry to the floors under the car and the walls on the garage. He even brought in some help from a few familiar faces.

It was time for track action, and we were quick out of the gate: P6 for Isack and P8 for Liam meant things were looking good. We followed this up with two more double visits to the top 10 in FP2 and FP3, rewarded with some amazing-looking New Zealand chocolate for Liam. Delish.

Once qualifying came around, we hit a couple of hurdles, and Liam didn’t make it out of Q1 by just over a tenth of a second. The margins are tiiiiiny in modern F1. Isack had the same fate in Q2, who missed out on a top 10 position by just +0.153 seconds. That meant Liam lined up in P16 and Isack in P13. We could work with that - the pace was there.
On to the race.
Sunday was a wet one, so plenty of numbers were crunched for the optimum setups. Both cars started on green-banded intermediate tyres for the 52-lap race, but Isack gambled for slick tyres at the end of the formation lap and started from the pit lane. Liam navigated the tricky conditions all the way to Turn 5 before a collision with Ocon ended his weekend prematurely. The Virtual Safety Car was brought out, then in, then out again until racing commenced on lap 7.

The rain got heavier, and Isack pitted again for another set of inters and emerged towards the back of the field. After a safety car restart for extreme weather, Isack was in a battle with Antonelli, but in the spray of the Mercedes ahead of him, he crashed and suffered terminal damage to his VCARB 02.
That was the end of the race for both of our drivers. Norris would go on to win in front of his home crowd with Piastri in P2, and Nico Hulkenberg finally got a podium finish after a 239-race wait.

Next up is another banger track: we’re heading east to Spa-Francorchamps for the Belgian Grand Prix, Round 13 of our 2025 campaign. We hope to see you there!
